Ken Robinson's talk "Do Schools Kill Creativity"

In general terms Mr Ken Robinson talks about the relation between creativity and education.He proposes that education is an important issue and of interest to majority of people.But he says so bluntly that schools kill creativity. In fact, the educational system is declining the tremendous creativity that all children are born. He says why? If creativity is such important as literacy in education.
For him, the creativity needs disposition to make mistakes. Is imposible to be original if you have fear of mistakes.And the educational system does not allow for mistakes. The result of that is that is educating people to not be creative.
Also he says that in all countries of the world have the same hierarchy of subjects. First, mathematics and languages. Then humanities and finally art.
Then he proposes that educational system is based on the idea of academic ability to meet the needs of industrialism and now we live in a process of academic inflation. In which a Professional Title is not enough.
Finally he says that our task is to educate holistically way, to cope with this future.

My life in 5 years!

If my life continues like now I think that in 5 years I'll be working as a clinical psychologist, I don’t very sure in what place. But I would like to be in a place that it uses differents techniques, a institution that values diversity like me. Also, I hope to be studyng for example in a postgrade of art therapy or in other postgrade related clinical work.
I would like to live in Santiago or another city near Santiago, because I like to have accessing a many cultural and entertainment services: differents theaters, many movies and plays, many concerts, many pubs and restaurants, diversity of shops and malls and always many museums that to visit. I think that I couldn’t live in a small place, remote, quiet or very cold, because I think it would be boring for me. But I think that I could live in a place like Valparaiso. I think its beautiful, I like their colors and hills and also it has many alternatives for having fun. And an ocean view which is the perfect balance between the city and the tranquility of the sea.
In personally, I would love to visit Venezuela in no more 5 years. There lives my best friend, I don’t see her since 2005 and I miss her so much. I hope to have money and time for visit her. I also would like to dedicate some of my time to paint.
I Expect to be happy with what I will be doing in my life at that moment and enjoying very much.

Why Psychology?

Definitely, choose a career was not easy work for me. Originaly I accessed to this career by intuition rather than a well-considered decision. Last year was not quite sure of to have taken a good decision. But now I start to motivate myself more with Psychology. I think that it’s a field that presents many alternatives for working as proffessional. For example it is important to consider that the psychology is more that the vision of a therapist and his patient in a couch.Because it has differents currents like: Community Psychology, Legal Psychology, Occupational psychology, Educational psychology and Clinical Psychology. In fact, last one I think is the best for me because I Could help to differents persons in a way so close and personal and Also I could look at areas such as art therapy, hypnosis or aromatherapy in a manner complementary to the clinical work.I hope to continue this process without so much confusion and I hope to continue studying to be a good psychologist.

Hi, this time I’ll talk about this picture. I like it so much because when I see it I can remember my last summer. In that occasion I went to Bolivia with my boyfriend for one month approximately and we took photos in many places and times. We had a great time in those vacations! Well,specifically this picture was taken at around of Uyuni, a small and nice town in the desert, by a friend from Argentina who traveled with us on the tour. It’s important to me because in this picture appears my boyfriend and me. And in others occasions to take photos with both It was so much difficult, because almost all the time we were together. Moreover, this scene shows a very beautiful place: the lake and volcano Licancabur. I think it’s great the green of water!!! I love it! I really recommend you visit this place.

ACAT: Chilean Association ot Art Therapy.

This site is about Psychology. In specific I’ll talk about the site of ACAT, Chilean Association of Art Therapy. The link of this web site is http://www.arteterapia-chile.blogspot.com/. I like so much because I think that this part of psychology is very interesting and useful. I found this site last year, when I visited google because I needed information for an english work about art therapy. From that day I have been visiting it. It is very attractive to me, especially because It shows news of this discipline in Chile and Latin America, for example there are reports about different congresses in this area of the world. Moreover it has a list with links of other association of art therapy and it presents the history of the art therapy in Chile and different places where it has been done in our country . I visit it when I have time, not very often. But when I remember it.

Hi everybody, today I will to tell you about this picture.It’s my notebook, I had it untill last year, in specific untill august. My parents gave it to me as a birthday gift. They surprised me because I didn`t expect a gift like that. Really,It's so useful to me, because I can work in different places and times. With my notebook I avoid figths with my younger brother and I work quietly. I use it every days, when I listen to music, chat with my friends, when I dowload music from internet or reading about anything. Also, I use it when I watch movies with my boyfriend or when we watch different clips in youtube.
Moreover, I use it to see the mail from my course, to study slides of the classes and to do many works for university. Without my notebook everyday would be less practical and confortable. In my student life, especially in exam period , would be a caos.

Hi, I’m Susan Villena. I study in third of psicology in the Universidad de Chile. Also I have a class of english there, I’m in level 3. I think that english is important for any people on any carreer. In psicology, especially, I think that english helps to understand updated articles and specialized books. How ever, I don’t like it so much. Because I am not good at thinking in english, it is very dificult for me to talk in english. I think I don’t have so much practice and I need more vocabulary. How ever, I understand basic things in english. For example, some writter or said phrases
